Food for Thought

I was sitting here tonight watching T.V. Oprah’s “The Big Give”, when I realized how much time we waste. I feel ashamed that I don’t do more to volunteer my time or try and make a difference in someone else’s life, though I don’t have it made, I have more than my fare share. I thank God everyday that I am healthy and have the things I do, but I also realize that it isn’t just God that decides these things, “we do” within ourselves, and it’s up to us to make things better or to try and change things for the good. God gave us that will, one will that I have neglected, but no more. Therefore, I am asking people what they think “they or I” can do to make a real difference, a real change in the lives of others. Not just a hand out to others, but a way to make things better for the world. Any thoughts??

  1. Hear, hear….I feel the same. My wife and I were toying with volunteering for hospice work, but just couldn’t go through with it. I wish I could contribute more, sometimes I look at my free time, and then the world around me, and I just wanna cry out and make a change. Then I get overwhelmed, and want to hide, and avoid eye contact with the world.
    Peace,
